Finished up with two of my clients today. I'm so glad the semester is almost done. One of my clients brought me a basket of homemade muffins. I know what I'm eating for breakfast tomorrow :)
I just recently found out that one of my summer classes includes a field trip - to the cadaver lab! I'm not sure I'll be able to handle it. I'm definitely not looking forward to it.

We had some really wild thunderstorms here today. Thunder and lightning, the whole bit. Woke me up this morning. Nothing is happening right now, but the storms are supposed to be back.
I've just got to share this story. One of my clients is a little guy, only four. Today we were walking with my supervisor, who commented "You don't like Dara, do you?" (joking) He came back with "No, I love Dara." It just made me melt. Honestly, if he said that every day, he could get away with anything!

Well, the car wash job turned out fairly well. Not perfect, but a lot cleaner than it used to be. Now, here's something I don't understand. I got gas earlier today, and I paid less for the middle-grade gas than I would have for the low-grade gas. Go figure.

Happy Easter! I hope everyone had a joyous celebration! I had fun this morning in Sunday School. Imagine this - three little girls laying on their backs with their feet in the air, screaming/singing. So hysterical!
I just got back from washing my car (gasp! yes, I know it's Sunday, but spare time is precious). It was one of those self-serve deals. I think I did a pretty ok job, we'll see once it dries.
The countdown for classes ending is two weeks. I have so much to do in the next couple weeks, it's a little frightening. I'm really looking forward to the end of the semester. This semester has just flown by.

I just booked tickets home for August. I'm so excited! I'll get to spend about two and a half weeks at home. I can't hardly wait! My friend Abigail is coming with me to visit for a few days, too. Let the countdown begin :)

Yesterday was HIPAA day. Otherwise known as the "Health Information Portability and Accountability Act." Otherwise known as the bane of the SLP grad student's existence. Basically, my life just got a major kink put in it. We are no longer allowed to work on client reports and things at home; we have to use one of 6 computers in a "secure room" at school. How's this for math - 6 computers for 20+ students? We are all trying to adjust, and going a little crazy in the process.
On the bright side, I got a wonderful letter in the mail today from the Office of the Dean of Graduate Studies. Turns out they want to give me $1000 in recognition of my "scholastic performance and academic accomplishments." Yahoo! Praise God! That really made my day.
Couple other highlights of my day - I had fun dyeing Easter eggs with a client, and I got to meet and visit with my advisor's baby twins. All in all, it was a pretty good day! Hope yours was just as grand!

I can't believe the misconceptions people have here about Canada. Just because I'm from Canada, they think that I am used to the snow and that I can handle it. Quite the opposite is true, in fact! I am very thankful that it was sunny today, so most of the snow is melted away now. It's supposed to get up to 70+'F (20+'C) here towards the end of the week. Yahoo!
Tonight my class had the unique opportunity to have a stuttering support group come and talk to us. It was very interesting to hear their perspectives on life as a person who stutters, therapy, and what works and what doesn't. Very eye-opening, I learned quite a bit.
